You can register as a support worker with the Scottish Social Services Council in a variety of early education, childcare and play settings. Once you find work you could go on to further training at SVQ Level 3. Early Education & Childcare SCQF Level 6 The course also prepares candidates for the HNC Childhood Practice course, or employment.
Evidence of a minimum of 40 hours volunteering or a placement within an early years environment is also required.

A career in Early Learning and Childcare is now a very challenging ambitious role but a very rewarding one. The BA in Childhood Practice Programme was a real turning point in my own career. The HNC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF level 7 provides an understanding of the values and principles which underpin early education and childcare and develops the skills appropriate for working with a range of service users in early education and childcare settings.
